Met Eireann has issued a status yellow weather alert for wind and rain for the entire country
Friday is looking like the worst day with virtually all areas affected by heady downpours, with flash floods possible.m
The warning reads: “Status Yellow – Rain warning for Leinster, Cavan, Monaghan, Munster, Connacht. Spells of heavy rain on Friday. Blustery at times also, especially on the south and east coasts.”
